Blog Statistics#

Get a Google Analytics Login#

  1. If you don't already have one, create a Gmail account.
  2. Email your Gmail address to someone in Shared Systems and ask to be given "viewer" access to the NPL website's analytics.

Pull Pageviews for a Blog Post#

Find out how many views your blog post is getting during a given time period.

  1. Log in to Google Analytics.

  2. Make sure you're looking at the right source:
    Waldo > library.nashville.org - NPL Website Production > GA4. time period

  3. On the left side of the screen, choose Reports.

  4. On the upper right side of the screen, set your desired time period. time period

  5. In the left menu, select Engagement > Pages and Screens. time period

  6. Under the graph, find the search box. Type a few words from the URL of your blog post (you must include hyphens). In the example below, we're looking at stats for a post called "February in the Garden" with the URL https://library.nashville.org/blog/2023/02/february-garden. We put "february-garden" (from the URL) in the search box to find stats. time period

  7. Repeat for each blog post.

Find the most popular posts for the last month, last three months, February 2020, etc. Set your time period and find out which blog posts were most popular.

  1. Log in to Google Analytics.

  2. Make sure you're looking at the right source:

  3. On the left side of the screen, choose Reports.

  4. On the upper right side of the screen, set your desired time period. time period

  5. In the left menu, select Engagement > Pages and Screens. time period

  6. Under the graph, find the search box. Type /blog/ in the search box. time period

  7. Look at the pageviews list, which is sorted from highest to lowest for the time period you set initially.
