Podcast Statistics#

Statistics are pulled monthly for any podcaster that requests regular updates.

Statistics are saved in a Google Sheet.

Matomo Analytics#

Statistics We Can Provide#

  • Pageviews on the overall podcasts landing page
  • Pageviews on each podcast series landing page
  • Pageviews on individual podcast episode pages
  • Count of people who came from a podcast referral link by using a campaign-tagged URL (as long as the URL is tagged)

Statistics We Cannot Provide#

  • Clicks on the audio player button on podcast episode pages (did people stream from NPL site?)
  • Length of Listening / Engagement with Audio Player (how long did people listen to the audio on the NPL site?)
  • Clicks on Podcast Subscribe / RSS Links (did people leave NPL to subscribe?)
  • Number of downloads (how many times did someone download the mp3?)

Pull Pageviews for Podcast Series Page#

  1. Log in to Matomo Analytics.

  2. Make sure you're looking at the right source: NPL Website.

  3. Adjust the time period you want to see. Click the date menu and select the time period you want. source

  4. On the left side of the screen, click Behaviour > Pages.

  5. In the search box, type /podcasts.

  6. Record the pageview numbers for the required time period.

Pull Pageviews for Specific Podcast Episodes#

Find out how many views your blog post is getting during a given time period.

  1. Log in to Matomo Analytics.

  2. Make sure you're looking at the right source: NPL Website. source

  3. Adjust the time period you want to see. Click the date menu and select the time period you want. source

  4. On the right side of the screen, look for the Pages report and click the square to maximize the report.

  5. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Pages report and find the search box. time period

  6. Type a few words from the URL of your podcast episode (you must include hyphens).

  7. Repeat for each podcast episode.

Podcast Services#

Apple Podcasts#

Set up under Kyle Cook's personal Apple ID. Additional admins can be added by any other admin. If you add an additional admin, add them with their personal or department Apple ID.

Contact Forrest / Production Services for statistics.

  1. Go to: https://podcastsconnect.apple.com
  2. Sign in.
  3. Go to the Analytics tab.
  4. Get stats.

Spotify#

We cannot add admins to the Spotify account. There is only one login.

Contact Shared Systems for statistics.

  1. Log in at: https://creators.spotify.com
  2. Go to Analytics tab.
  3. Get stats.

YouTube#

Set up under NPL's YouTube account. The recovery phone number is set up with Kyle Cook's telephone number (cell). Additional admins can be added by any other admin.
