Finding Copyright-Friendly Images

Images Owned / Purchased by Public Library

  • Image Library
    • Add with URL.
    • Logo images
    • Grab the URL from the spreadsheet to use the image in a calendar listing.
  • Library Catalog
    • Add with URL.
    • The library licenses the cover images used in the catalog from Syndetics. We pay for the rights to use those images. Copy link address and paste in the image field for your event.
  • Nashville Public Library on Flickr
    • Upload image.
    • High-resolution event photos are saved to the library’s Flickr account.

Using Images From Other Websites

  • If you find an image you like on a non-library website, look for copyright info for images. Ask the site owner for permission to use their image.
  • When using an image from a non-library source, DO NOT use the “Add Media from URL” option. After properly resizing the image, save it and upload it to the library’s website.
  • If you are using an image from a non-library source, you must credit the source of the image in the image description field.
